Early in the narrative, Cal Kestis and his loyal companion BD-1 must find a way to repair their damaged ship, the Mantis, after a rough landing on the planet Koboh. To accomplish this, you must complete a core main story objective that tasks you with retrieving a vital mechanical component hidden deep beneath the surface.
Reaching Pyloon Saloon and Starting the Quest
The journey begins after you successfully navigate the rugged terrain of Koboh and locate your old crewmate, Greez Dritus. Upon meeting him inside Pyloon's Saloon, Greez informs Cal that the Mantis requires a specific component known as a Gyro Module to become operational again. He directs you to explore the labyrinthian basement areas hidden directly beneath the bar to retrieve it.
Before diving into the dark depths, players can take a moment to rest and prepare their gear for potential encounters. Knowing the exact steps to navigate this underground sector saves valuable time and prevents unnecessary backtracking. Following the initial dialogue sequence unlocks the pathway leading down into the subterranean ruins.
Navigating the Smuggler Tunnels to Find the Module
Once you step through the maintenance door, you will enter the Smuggler's Tunnels, a dark and damp network of caverns underneath the saloon. Navigating this area requires utilizing Cal's agility to wall-run across gaps and squeeze through tight rock formations. While searching for the component, BD-1 will inadvertently trigger an event that alters your path and drops you into an ancient structure.
As you explore deeper, you will discover the structural ruins of a past era, which houses the hidden technology you need. This transition shifts the mission from a simple retrieval task into an engaging exploration of historical lore. Players should keep a close eye out for interactive elements that signal the correct path forward.
Discovering the Chamber of Duality and Completing the Retrieval
Right when Cal locates the necessary machinery, a sudden cave-in alters the situation completely, plunging the duo into the catacombs of an ancient Jedi structure. This mysterious area is known as the Chamber of Duality, where you will encounter an old Jedi droid named Zee who has been trapped for centuries. To complete the main objective, players must solve a series of physics-based orb puzzles to liberate the droid and secure a path back to the surface.
After successfully solving the puzzle mechanisms, you can safely guide the ancient droid back up to Pyloon's Saloon to meet with the rest of your crew. Handing over the recovered tech allows Greez to begin the necessary repairs on the Mantis. Completing this narrative milestone unlocks new exploration opportunities across the expanding landscape of Koboh.
