Relic Ruins No Man's Land Guide and Puzzle Solutions
The No Man's Land Relic Ruin in Horizon Forbidden West offers one of the game's earliest environmental puzzle challenges. Located southwest of Barren Light, completing this location requires players to use special gear to retrieve a valuable Ornament hidden within the ancient structure. Understanding the proper steps ensures you can navigate the complex interior without getting stuck on electrical hazards.
Prerequisites and Unlocking Access
Before attempting to solve this Relic Ruin, make sure Aloy has crafted the Igniter tool. This special gear is unlocked during the main story mission titled Death's Door and is required to blow up Firegleam walls blocking key paths. Attempting the puzzle without this equipment will prevent you from accessing the main interior room.
Infiltrating the Main Complex
To enter the facility, walk around the exterior left side of the locked building until you reach a open plaza area. Drag the nearby crate beneath the climbable handholds on the wall to reach the upper roof. From the roof, locate the red Firegleam deposit, ignite it with your spear, and step back before it explodes to blow open an entry hole.
Transporting the Energy Cell Safely
Inside the flooded building, use your Pullcaster to knock down a crate from the upper balcony into the lower water area. Find the charged Energy Cell and place it directly on top of the crate rather than carrying it through the water, as submerged batteries immediately lose power. Carefully pull the crate across the flooded room using the Pullcaster, then insert the dry battery into the wall socket to supply power to the terminal.
Accessing the Code and Claiming the Ornament
Scan the nearby datapoint with your Focus to inspect the journal entry, which reveals the terminal door code is 2204. Clamber back up to the upper console using your grapple points and input this four-digit passcode into the door lock. Once inside, retrieve the secret Ornament collectible to officially complete the Relic Ruin.
